Kutak Rock Congratulates Omaha Partners on Nebraska State Bar Foundation Honors
News | March 12, 2025Kutak Rock is proud to recognize partners Jeremy Fitzpatrick and Gigi O’Hara for being honored as Lifetime Fellows of the Nebraska State Bar Foundation, as well as Amy Van Horne, who was recognized as a Distinguished Fellow at the Gold Fellow level. Their selection reflects their outstanding commitment to the legal profession, integrity, and service to the community.
Each year, only 30 attorneys are chosen as fellows of the Nebraska State Bar Foundation, an honor based on integrity, professional distinction, and contributions to both the profession and the community. Once a fellow fulfills their pledged gift to the foundation, they become a permanent member. Distinguished Fellows, such as Amy, are recognized for their additional generosity and commitment to advancing the foundation’s mission.
Kutak Rock celebrates Gigi, Jeremy, and Amy for this well-deserved recognition and their continued dedication to the legal profession and justice in Nebraska.
Jeremy focuses his practice on construction law. He represents contractors, owners and design professionals in all aspects of construction disputes. He also assists clients with negotiating and drafting construction contracts. Jeremy formerly served as the chair of the Federal Practice Committee for the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska and is a past president of the Robert M. Spire American Inn of Court.
Gigi is a trusted and experienced trial attorney who has tried cases to verdict in state and federal courts on various employment matters. She serves as the head of the firm’s national Wage and Hour Defense Group, as well as the firm’s national OSHA Compliance & Workplace Safety group. She formerly served as the chair of the Nebraska State Bar Association’s Labor Relations and Employment Law Section. Gigi has also been ranked by Chambers USA®, Best Lawyers in America®, Super Lawyers® and Benchmark Litigation® as a leading practitioner in the areas of Employment & Labor and Employment Litigation. She was also selected to Business Today’s Top 10 Influential Labor & Employment Lawyers Shaping Nebraska.
Amy is the first female mediator in Nebraska to be accepted into the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, and one of only two attorneys from Nebraska accepted into the American College of Civil Trial Mediators. As a second-career lawyer, Amy has experience as a public-school teacher as well as extensive experience litigating personal injury, products liability, and insurance coverage disputes. This experience gives her the unique ability to both educate parties on how a case will progress to verdict as well as provide valuable support in reaching success in mediation.
