Kutak Rock opened its Richmond office in 2000 in the heart of the city’s financial and legal districts. The office’s robust Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice was ranked in the Chambers USA 2020 guide and has recently handled several high-profile national bankruptcy cases. The office also is home to thriving litigation, creditors’ rights, and public finance practices.
Outside the office, attorneys and staff are active in numerous local and regional nonprofit organizations, including the Gateway Association, an organization of businesses and citizens of Chesterfield County, Virginia devoted to economic redevelopment; Downtown Richmond YMCA; Midlothian Family YMCA; Metropolitan Richmond Boy Scouts of America; inner-city schools; and pro bono cases.
Every year, both staff and attorneys participate in hosting area students for Law Day, discussing legal careers, education requirements, and arranging and guiding tours of local courthouses, courtrooms, and question-and-answer sessions with judges and law enforcement.
