Kutak Rock is pleased to announce that Melissa VanSickle, a board-certified real estate attorney in the firm’s Tallahassee office, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Funding Florida Legal Aid (FFLA). Her three-year term began on July 1, 2025 and she will serve as a delegate for Florida Bar President-elect Michael Fox Orr.

FFLA brings together voluntary bar representatives across the state to foster communication, develop policy and promote professionalism within the Florida legal community. As one of six designated directors, Melissa will play an important role in shaping the profession and advancing FFLA’s mission.

Melissa is a Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate Lawyer and represents buyers and sellers in all aspects of the sale and acquisition of commercial property. Melissa has extensive experience advising developers on multifamily, mixed use, and ground lease projects. Her practice also includes serving as general counsel for a public entity and facilitating economic incentive agreements and other business collaborations. Melissa contributes significant time to the Florida Guardian Ad Litem Program in a pro bono capacity and also previously taught as an adjunct professor at the Florida State University College of Law, sharing her knowledge of real estate law with the next generation of attorneys.
