Michelle Pernicek Named to “Rising List” for Women Attorneys

Kutak Rock congratulates Omaha public finance partner Michelle Pernicek for being named to the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) 2025 Rising List. This list recognizes early- to mid-career attorneys who either advance women in the legal profession or advocate for women under the law. 

In addition to an active public finance practice focusing on affordable housing, Michelle frequently provides pro bono legal services through Legal Aid of Nebraska. She also serves the Nebraska State Bar Association as a member of the House of Delegates, the Executive Committee for the Women in the Law Section, and the Judicial Resources Committee. Outside her legal volunteer work, Michelle also serves as the president-elect of The Rose Theater Guild, as the chair of the Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Program Committee for Nebraska, and as a sustainer with the Junior League of Omaha. She previously served on the Nebraska State Bar Association’s Barristers’ Ball Committee, as a mentor with the TeamMates Mentoring Program for five years and volunteer with the TeamMates Tailgate Gala Committee.

At Kutak Rock she is a member of the Pro Bono and Community Service Committee and Business Development Committee. 

Michelle often attends NAWL events and was named Kutak Rock’s 2019 Challenge Club Participant to NAWL. Her other recent awards include being named to the Midland Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list; being spotlighted by the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) in January of this year; and serving as a member of the Nebraska Alumni Association Young Alumni Academy Class of 2023-2024, among other accomplishments. 

Michelle represents clients in various types of public finance transactions, primarily serving as bond counsel and bond purchaser’s counsel in multifamily housing financings across the country. She also has substantial experience as special counsel to lenders for the acquisition and documentation of interest rate caps in multifamily housing transactions. Michelle is licensed in California and Nebraska.
