Kutak Rock Serves as Bond Counsel for UIC Grenshaw Parking Structure Project
News | February 12, 2025Kutak Rock served as Bond Counsel in connection with the issuance of $65,770,000 Illinois Finance Authority Lease Revenue Bonds (Provident Group-UIC Grenshaw Parking Properties LLC-University of Illinois Chicago Parking Structure Project) Series 2025A.
The Series 2025A Bonds:
- (a) financed the cost of the design, development, construction, furnishing, equipping, and owning of a 1,055 space eight level parking facility to be known as the Grenshaw Street Parking Structure, along with associated site development and various related amenities and improvements to be located north of the intersection of Grenshaw Street and Wolcott Avenue in Chicago, Illinois on certain land owned by The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois on behalf of the University of Illinois Chicago, along with certain off-site improvements to be located on property outside of the property;
- (b) fund interest on the Series 2025 Bonds during the period of construction of the Series 2025 Project and for approximately three months following the completion of the Series 2025 Project;
- (c) fund working capital; and
- (d) pay the costs of issuing the Series 2025 Bonds. The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois on behalf of the University of Illinois Chicago is also making a cash contribution to the Series 2025 Project.
Kutak Rock partners Fred Marienthal, Jennifer Barrett, Shawn Willette and attorney Bradley Scoble served as bond counsel. The Series 2025 Project is expected to be complete in August 2026.
